Oiva Toikka
Oiva Toikka (1931-2019) was a renowned Finnish artist and glass designer. He was born He studied in Viipuri, Finland (now Vyborg, Russia) and studied at the University. at the Finnish Central School of Arts and Crafts in Helsinki from 1950 to 1953.
Toikka started thinking about it. He began his career in glass design in 1956 when he began manufacturing. He went to work for the Nuutajärvi glass factory in Finland. He won He gained recognition for his innovative glass designs, which combined traditional techniques with modern aesthetics. Toikka's glass birds, in particular, have become iconic works of art and are highly sought after by collectors around the world.
In addition to his work in glass design, Toikka also designed glass. a wide range of other products, including textiles, ceramics and furniture. He was awarded numerous prizes throughout his career, including the Kaj Franck Design Prize in 1992 and the Prince Eugene Medal in 1993. on June 22, 2019, at the age of 87.
