Knot, a collection of majestic pendant lights, contrasts two different materials, two different concepts: soft curves in hand-blown clear glass against the starkness of thick rope. The resulting design is striking, direct, and dignified all at once. Full-bodied globes of varying shapes and sizes are pierced by a robust rope that terminates in the collection's central design element, the knot, which appears to pull the bottom of the glass inward for a disconcerting, almost plastic effect. The LED light source is mounted beneath an elegant stamped metal bell and protected from below by a hand-blown opal diffuser. Another metal component serves to cap the end of the rope. The Knots are well-suited to both public and private interiors and make a particularly impressive statement above dining tables.
