Solstice references the prehistoric monument of Stonehenge and its spiritual rituals surrounding the summer and winter solstices. Solstice's illuminated, opaque glass globe alludes to the sun, while the square brass structure that encases it evokes the monolithic form of the stone. Drawing inspiration from 1960s lighting design, Solstice is the meeting point between mid-century style and the height of summer. And just as the Earth rotates and the sun moves across the celestial sphere, each Solstice can be rotated to create its own unique celestial formation.
